Viruses

In Te Maunga we have been learning about viruses. We made a flow diagram to show how a virus starts and ends. I learnt about how the viruses get into your body and how your body kills it.

The Water Cycle

In Te Maunga we have been learning about the water cycle. We did an explanation then we did some art. We had to include the four steps of the water cycle, evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection.

Koru arts

On the 5th of February 2020 our class did some koru and mangopare arts. We found out that the mangopare is a hammerhead shark. First we did our practice one on a piece of paper then we did our real one on a little piece of card. We had to include our family members. I had my three brothers, my mum, my dad and my dog. After that I got to paint it then when it was dry I traced around my koru with vivid then it looked beautiful.   

Action world

On Tuesday 3rd of December we went to Action World. When we got there we had something to eat and sat down. Then someone came to talk to us, we had to take our shoes off before we could go on the rides. Girls went first on the water slide for an hour while the boys got to go and play. The first thing I went on was the tightrope. I nearly made it on the first attempt and on the third attempt I made it across then I tried to go across again but I fell of.The second thing I went on was the tarzan swing and I was good at that but I didn’t make it over.Next I went on the climbing wall and I nearly made it to the top but I’m scared of heights so I jump off and moved on I went on the tightrope a few times again and I didn’t make it.Then it was the boys turn to go on the water slide but I was playing mini golf instead.We walked up to the first hole when it was my turn, I hit the ball too hard and it went out once everyone had their turn we moved onto the second whole we had to wait a while for everyone to have there turn then we had two groups so the turns would go faster.When I got bored of mini golf I went to go play then soon we had to go back to school.

Plant animation

Archie and I made an animation about how corn grows . We learnt what the corn needs to grow and how it grows.It needs soil,water and sunlight.Enjoy

Maker space Electricity

On Thursday 7th of November we did makerspace about electricity.We had to do 5 things my favourite one was the brain box because you had to make the light turn on by using the parts.When we turned the light on then we had to make a fan spin and the light turn on at the same time.We made fan spin but the light didn't turn so we swapped the light and fan around then we flicked the switch and the were both working at the same time.

Maker Space

On Friday October 25th we did a maker space the challenge was we had to cook a healthy meal and use stuff from the garden and we could bring stuff from home we used carrots,celery and parsley. Our group made guacamole and a burrito with carrot and celery sticks.What a plant needs to grow:Water,soil and sunlight.Put the seed in the ground and then water it  the roots will grow first then wait a couple of days,now it is called a sprout you must water it everyday until it has fully grown.
